The Natchez Festival of Music 2013-2014
Artistic director, Jay Dean, leads the helm with the Natchez Festival of Music's "All You Need Is Love" Season-and there will be a lot of it! For 24 years, the Festival has been the primary sponsor of live, world-class music and theater, as well as internationally and nationally recognized performers, in southwest Mississippi and the eastern region of central Louisiana (the Miss-Lou), year-round leading up to the May Festival Season. This fall, the Festival features Beethoven and Mozart in Eternal Elegance, followed by Mozart's Cosi' Fan Tutte and the Christmas Cabaret. Performing artists come from around the country to entertain in a month-long celebration of opera, musicals and jazz at various venues throughout the Natchez area in the month of May. May 2014 Season is optimum with a 50-year Tribute to the Beatles, tributes to Leontyne Price, Jerome Kern and Maria Callas, Hollywood's Greatest Hits, Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinfafore, Tosca, and the Festival traditions-a recital by virtuoso pianist Jonathan Levin, A Musical Wine Tasting and the fun-filled Sunday evening performances in the Eola Hotel Lobby. Select events include parties and galas at historic homes and churches, making the events particularly special.
