Natchez Antiques Forum

The Natchez Antiques Forum, presented by the Pilgrimage Garden Club, celebrates its thirty-fifth assembly. Each year the forum takes on different forms with a variety of themes, but always with a Southern point of view. Natchez has a significant and unique insight into the world of antiques. In antebellum days, Natchez, Mississippi was home to more millionaires per capita than any other city in the United States. The homes they built for their families contained some of the finest, most opulent furnishings and artwork in the nation.

The Pilgrimage Garden Club Antiques Forum is a civilized and lovely way to experience Natchez—whether you're a novice, an experienced collector or simply interested in beauty and history, you will find this weekend enjoyable. Spend your days sipping mint juleps, soaking up the scenery and drinking in the knowledge of experts. Rub shoulders with noted experts such as Wendell Garrett, former editor in chief of The Magazine Antiques; now its editor-at-large and a consultant for Sotheby's in New York. The forum also gives you the opportunity to meet antique dealers and designers, as well as people who just happen to share common interests in antiques and history.

Jeanette Feltus, one of the original founders of the Antiques Forum and the president of the Antiques Forum Advisory Board, said that the forum was originally organized more than 30 years ago as a fundraiser to restore Kings Tavern, the oldest structure in Natchez,  when it was owned by the Pilgrimage Garden Club.

At this year's Forum Historic Longwood  was chosen as its beneficiary. Longwood, the largest Octagonal House in America, is on the US National Register of Historic Places, a US National Historic Landmark and a Mississippi Landmark. Longwood is a true treasure and one of the most significant structures in not only in Natchez, but in the entire United States.

The year's forum was November 7 - 10, 2012. Learn more at natchezantiquesforum.org
