Fall Pilgrimage in Natchez

Fall Pilgrimage  September 27 - October 14, 2012

Nineteen antebellum mansions, most of them private residences, open their doors to visitors during this two-week Pilgrimage each autumn.

Hostesses welcome visitors to two and three houses each morning and three more each afternoon.

See Longwood, Rosalie or Stanton Hall any day at $15 for Adults and $10 for Youth ages 6-18, or add one of these houses to any tour for $12 per house (Students $8).

Characters in Costume

Look for characters in costume at certain houses.  Actors portray ancestors and share stories of their lives in the 1800's.

Fall Pilgrimage Entertainment Stone House and Antebellum Music Room

Stone House Musicale - Relive a 19th century musicale with renowned classical pianist Joseph Stone, who keeps his family's antebellum music room alive with intimate concerts and wine receptions. During Fall Pilgrimage, 2011:  Friday and Saturday at 6:00 pm. for individual visitors.  Available to groups year round, any day of the week with reservations. The Joseph Stone House, 804 Washington Street. $20 per person, $10 under age 21.

 

Carriage House Restaurant, Natchez

Jazz & Juleps - Relax Southern Style!  Sip an authentic, hand-muddled mint julep and tap your toes to jazz favorites at the Carriage House Restaurant on the grounds of antebellum mansion Stanton Hall.  Carriage House Restaurant, 401 High Street.  $25.00 per person.

House on Ellicott Hill

Flags Over Ellicott Hill - History comes to life as you enjoy libations and appetizers with one of Natchez�s earliest and most prominent characters, Andrew Ellicott. Witness a breathtaking view from the gallery, learn a little history and see where the first American flag was raised in the Mississippi territory in 1797 with brief reenactment of the event. The House on Ellicott Hill, 211 N. Canal Street. $25.00 per person/$12.50 youth under 12.

Amos Polk's Voices of Hope Spiritual Singers
Enjoy a bountiful plantation dinner and a stirring gospel concert at the renowned Carriage House Restaurant on the grounds of antebellum Stanton Hall. Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Dinner 6:45; concert 7:30pm to 8:30pm. 401 High Street at Commerce. $35 per person.
Performances are $35 each, and includes dinner.

"Mississippi Medicine Show"
Dr. Morphineus Codine Shingles touts his "Magic Wondrous Healing Oil" and brings with him his hilarious sidekicks Miss Scarlette and Mark Twain, and a host of performers singing popular music of the 1800's Performed in period costumes by The Natchez Little Theatre,Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during Fall Pilgrimage at 8:00pm, Sunday, October 16 at 2pm.Admission is $15.
