The Elms, circa 1804, is located just a couple of blocks from Main Street.  At times a Presbyterian manse and a young ladies' boarding school, the home underwent extensive remodeling a decade after being built to add the formal parlor and master bedroom.  Much of the furniture is original to the Carpenter family, who has lived here for more than 130 years.  There is a master suite with 3 beds, another with king size bed, and still another with double bed.
