Natchez Pilgrimage Tours (NPT)

Individual or Group Tours

Natchez Pilgrimage Tours (NPT) is the only full service receptive tour operator in Natchez .  We assist individuals as well as large and small groups in planning a Natchez visit, including house tours, interactive historical presentations, Bed and Breakfast lodging, hotels, meals, tour guides, evening entertainment, concerts, festivals and more.

 

Seasonally, NPT serves as headquarters for the Natchez Spring Pilgrimage and Fall Pilgrimage, showcasing thirty-eight houses from the late Colonial to the Antebellum period.

 

 

Spring Pilgrimage: 

Individual, Group and Special Packages:

Antebellum Homes Tours-  Homes are opened to the public to tour for five weeks in the months of March and April. Hosts and hostesses dressed in period costume will welcome you and recount the history of each home’s occupants and stunning furnishings.  In addition, we provide ticketing for ten antebellum houses which are open year round for daily tours.

Historic Natchez Pageant- A depiction of the Antebellum Era through song, dance and historical dialog including adornment of period costumes. Presented Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during Spring Pilgrimage.

Southern Exposure- A satirical comedy on the Natchez Spring Pilgrimage.  A very entertaining and humorous depiction of the town of Natchez during Pilgrimage. Presented Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays during Spring Pilgrimage.

Southern Road to Freedom- A stirring tribute, by the Holy Family Gospel Choir, to the struggle and victory of the African-American experience in Natchez from the Colonial period to present day.  Presented Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays during Spring Pilgrimage.

Songs of the South- Stephen Foster, Traditional spirituals, Gershwin, showboat Tunes and more presented by the Natchez Festival of Music.

 

Fall Pilgrimage 

Individual, Group and Special Packages:

Antebellum Home Tours-  Privately owned antebellum homes open their doors to the public for 2 weeks.

Mississippi Medicine show or Big River Musical- Evening entertainment presented by the Natchez Little Theatre playhouse offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during Fall Pilgrimage.

Amos Polk's Voices of Hope- Enjoy these wonderful spiritual singers and a traditional Plantation dinner in the world-famous Carriage House Restaurant on the grounds of historic Stanton Hall.  Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

 

 

 

Festivals, Events, and On-Line Shopping

Other events include:

• The Natchez Festival of Music - Performing artists come from around the country to entertain in a month long celebration of opera, musicals and jazz at various venues throughout the Natchez area in May,
• The Natchez Bluffs Blues Fest - Artists appearing at the Blues Festival include local and guest singers and bands for a fun-filled weekend on the bluffs of the Mississippi River and selected nightclubs and restaurants throughout the city.
• Natchez Food and Wine Festival - August offers three days of fabulous meals in grand mansions. Sample scrumptious creations of renowned local and regional chefs, plus a variety of wines at "Taste of the River". Cooking demonstrations, Martha White Bake Off, and more!   

 

• The Great Mississippi River Balloon Race has the October sky filled with beautifully vibrant balloons form all over the country. This weekend celebration has entertainment for all ages from food and concerts to rides and activities for the children.
• Jeweled Christmas at the Towers is a month long display of the beautifully decorated antebellum home, and  rare costume jewelry collections, and jeweled ornaments by the owner. Seen by appointment only.
• Natchez Council for the Arts and Culture Fundraisers- various fundraisers hosted throughout the year to benefit the Arts and Culture.
